Splinter tries to help him, but Shredder goes ape and tries to attack them, so Splinter was forced to cause him to think he was Mikey again. Afterward, if he heard Shredder in Michelangelo mode, he'd revert back to Shredder. If he heard Michelangelo when in Shredder mode, he'd revert to Michelangelo.
